Easier said than done. So I took a good hard look at my food lately and was a little shocked. Yes I eat a wide variety of fruits, veggies, tons of greens, don't really do refined carbs................. except! My small indulgences ( wine, chees, crackers and yes an occasional slice of cheesecake) were in fact not as small or as in frequent as I had lead myself to believe. I work so hard all the time, or that is what I told myself, but I was being a little ( read a lot ) too soft.
So I have embarked on a clean eating detox for 4 weeks, 28 days, 7 more than it takes to form a habit!! There is method to my madness. Now in week 2, I have allowed myself 2 cheats, 2 in 7 seven days which stays well within the 80/20 rule. And I feel so much better!! My energy levels were fading, my skin was not looking great and I felt heavy despite all my good eats. I was however sabotaging my great efforts by being too good to myself with food!
I have decided to pamper myself this week with a good body scrub, some fake tan ( since the sun just wont stay out ) and a lovely pedicure. Who knows that might just become a habit too!!
